RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF EARLY-STAGE BREAST CANCER UNDER 40 YEARS OLD AT K HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the results of treatment of early-stage breast cancer under 40 years old at K hospital. Subjects and methods: using retrospective and prospective descriptive design with convenient sample size of 44 female patients ≤40 years old in stage I, IIA diagnosed and treated for breast cancer at K hospital from June 2017 to June 2024. Results: Young breast cancer has an average age of 34.7±4.1 (years). 88.6% of patients had preoperative tumor stage cT2. The preoperative lymph node stage was mostly without suspicious lymph node metastasis (cN0) accounting for 95.5%. The preoperative disease stage was mostly stage IIA (56.8%). Histologically, 65.9% of patients had invasive ductal carcinoma. The overall survival rates at 3 years and 5 years were 97.3% and 90.3%, respectively. The mean overall survival time was 63.9± 2.2 months. The disease-free survival rates at 3 years and 5 years were 92% and 81.8%, respectively. The mean disease-free survival time was 55.2±5.1 months. Conclusion: Early breast cancer under 40 years of age has a good prognosis in terms of disease-free survival and overall survival.
