Abstract

Objective: The study aims to evaluate the quality of life in patients with closed distal tibial fractures treated with locking plate fixation. Subjects and Methods: The study was conducted on 47 patients with closed distal tibial fractures who underwent locking plate fixation surgery at Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital from June 2022 to December 2023. This is a prospective descriptive study, assessing the quality of life using the SF-36 scale at 1, 3, and 6 months post-surgery. Results: 94.9% of patients achieved good to excellent bone healing outcomes. The quality of life of patients improved significantly, with the average SF-36 score ranging from 76 to 100 points at 6 months post-surgery. The overall physical health score (PCS) of patients increased from 45 ± 5 points before surgery to 75 ± 10 points after surgery.
