CHARACTERISTICS OF REPEAT ABORTIONS IN NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF OBSTETRICS ANH GYNECOLOGY

Abstract

Objective: To describe characteristics of repeated pregnancy abortion at Center for Reprodutive care and family planning. Methods: This is a retrospective study among 400 patients who requested for abortion due to unwanted pregnancy. Results: Mean of age was 34,52 ± 5,77, the youngest patient was 19 and the oldest was 48. Previous abortion was 53,2%, maximum number of previous abortions were 6 times. The majority of patients requested for family planning procedure (86%), medical abortion was 14%. The reason for medical abortion is mostly to avoid risk of infection and for safety outcome. Conclusion: The age of patient requested for family planning is getting younger. The majority of patients had history of abortion and the most popular choice was abortion procedure.
