Abstract

Objective: Prevalence of refeeding syndrome (RS) and some associated factors in Intensive Care Unit at Viet Duc University Hospital. Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on 64 patients received critical care at Viet Duc University Hospital from March 2024 to July 2024. Results: Research has shown that the proportion of resuscitated patients at risk of refeeding syndrome is 79.7%, of which those at average risk use the highest proportion (45.1%). Conclusion: Research has demonstrated that proper nutritional intervention, accompanied by strict control of blood electrolyte levels, can help minimize the risk of the syndrome. Preventive measures such as gradual introduction of nutrition and thiamin supplementation can reduce mortality from refeeding syndrome.
