Abstract

Objective: To describe clinical and paraclinical manifestations and the association with fatigue in dengue fever patients treated at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Method: Descriptive study, using CFQ-11 score (Chalder Fatigue scale) to evaluate the real fatigue status of dengue fever patients. Results: Of 102 patients, 74.5% had warning signs and 25.5% had no warning signs. The most common clinical manifestations of dengue fever are fever, headache, body aches. Of them, 35.3% had itching and 42.2% had rashes. There were 74.5% of patients with platelets below 50G/l and 55.9% of patients had Hct > 50% at admission. Platelet values ​​were lowest at day 5 after symptom onset (median 48 G/L). There were 56 patients (54.9%) with real fatigue based on the CFQ-11 scale. The highest rate of fatigue was on days 3, 4 and 5 after fever appeared, 17.9%; 30.4% and 26.8% respectively. There was no association between fatigue and the severity of dengue fever and the level of platelet changes at discharge.
