Abstract

Objective: Describe the status attitude about contraception of female nursing students at ThaiBinh University of medicine and pharmacy in 2024 and find out some related factors. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 240 female nursing students at ThaiBinh University of medicine and pharmacy in 2024. The questionnaire includes 29 questions, including 6 general information questions and 23 attitude questions about contraception. Results: 240 students participated in the study in which 45.8% of students have good attitudes about contraceptive methods. The overall average attitude score about contraceptives of the study subjects was 67.7 ± 6.5. Third and fourth year students have better attitude about contraceptive methods than first and second year students. Research results also show that students who live with their families have a higher attitude toward contraception than students who do not live with their families, but the difference is not statistically significant with p > 0.05. Conclusion: Students' attitude about contraceptive methods is not complete. There is a statistically significant difference in the group of students with good attitudes depending on the student's year of study.
