SURVEY OF SOME RISK FACTORS OF COLON CANCER IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING COLONOSCOPY AT HAI DUONG IN 2024

Abstract
The study was conducted on 300 patients aged 18 and over who came to Hai Duong Medical Technical University Hospital for examination and colonoscopy, with one of the risk factors for colorectal cancer, showing: General characteristics of some risk factors for colorectal cancer: age ≥50 is 78.33%; having colorectal adenomatous polyps: 48.33%; having a history of colorectal polyps or IBD: 14.67%; smoking: 13%, family history of colorectal cancer: 2.33%. The group of patients with symptoms accounted for 88%. Common symptoms: the most common is abdominal pain accounting for 57.95%; change in stool shape: 62.12%; change in bowel habits: 53.03%; bloody stools: 9.09%; weight loss: 5.3%, anemia: 0.38%. The group of patients without clinical symptoms accounted for 12%. Stratification of colorectal cancer risk factors in this group showed: high risk accounted for 5.55%, medium risk: 80.56%; low risk: 13.89%. Colonoscopy characteristics of the entire group of patients with colorectal cancer risk factors and no clinical symptoms: high risk - no colon polyps: 2.78%; high risk - with adenomatous polyps: 2.78%; medium risk - no adenomatous polyps: 41.67%; medium risk - with adenomatous polyps: 38.88%; low risk - no adenomatous polyps: 0%; low risk - with adenomatous polyps: 55.55%. Colonic adenomatous polyps are mainly found in patients with common clinical symptoms such as abdominal pain, changes in stool shape and properties, and changes in bowel habits.
