KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE OF PREGNANT WOMEN COMING FOR PRENATAL CHECKUPS AT HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, IN 2024

Abstract
Objective: To deescribe the current status of knowledge and attitudes about nutritional care of pregnant women coming for prenatal check-ups at the Department of Obstetrics, Hanoi Medical University Hospital in 2024. Research method: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 121 pregnant women coming for prenatal check-ups at the Department of Obstetrics, Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Collect indicators related to knowledge and attitudes about nutritional care of pregnant women coming for prenatal check-ups at the Department of Obstetrics, Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Research results: Of the 121 pregnant women (WW) who came for examination, 29 were in the first trimester, 41 were in the middle trimester, and 51 were in the last trimester. 92.5% of pregnant women knew information about proper nutrition during pregnancy. The main source of information that the subjects received was self-study on the internet; followed by friends and relatives (71.7%), radio, television (48.3%), medical staff (28.3%), and a few knew through newspapers and magazines (21.7%). 66.1% said that they should gain 12-18 kg during pregnancy, followed by 21.4% who said they did not know, 9.9% who said they did not know, and 2.5% who said they did not know. Knowledge about taking supplements during pregnancy: 88.4% said that taking iron pills is necessary during pregnancy, followed by folic acid at 87.6%, multivitamins and not knowing at 62% and 0.83%, respectively. The number of pregnant women with good knowledge about nutrition during pregnancy was 80.2%, average knowledge was 16.5%, and poor knowledge was 3.3%. 81.8% of pregnant women had a positive attitude when asked about eating a variety of foods in meals, 11.4% chose not sure, and 0.8% chose not. 92.6% of pregnant women had a positive attitude when it came to supplementary food during pregnancy, 7.5% of people were uncertain. Conclusion: Pregnant women visiting the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hanoi Medical University Hospital have relatively high knowledge and good attitudes about nutritional care during pregnancy. However, nearly 20% of pregnant women have poor knowledge about nutritional care during pregnancy.
