SURVEY ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ROTATORS' CUBE TEARS AT CAN THO CENTRAL GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: Describe clinical characteristics and magnetic resonance imaging in patients with rotator cuff tears at Can Tho Central General Hospital in 2020 - 2023. Methods: Retrospective descriptive study design on 41 patients diagnosed with rotator cuff tears and operated on at Can Tho Central General Hospital by arthroscopic surgery from January 2020 to December 2023. Result: The youngest patient was 36 years old and the oldest was 76 years old, with an average age of 54.68 ± 10.19 years old. Male gender accounted for 65.85%, higher than female gender at 34.15%. The proportion of patients with left shoulder injury was 34.15%, the proportion of right shoulder injury was 65.85%. Clinical symptoms of patients in the study sample had the highest proportion of Jobe test at 97.56%. On magnetic resonance imaging, total tear was recorded at the highest rate of 82.93%. Simple supraspinatus tendon tear was the most common at 63.41%. Type 1 acromion morphology accounted for the highest proportion with 43.90% of cases, type 2 had 26.83% of cases and type 3 had 29.27% of cases.
