ASSESSING QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG CHRONIC HEART FAILURE PATIENTS AND INFLUENTIAL FACTORS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Chronic heart failure causes significant economic impacts and negatively affects the quality of life of patients. Objective: To analyze the quality of life of chronic (QoL) heart failure patients receiving outpatient treatment at Friendship Hospital using the KCCQ questionnaire and identify influential factors. Research subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 206 chronic heart failure outpatient patients treated at Friendship Hospital from 10-12/2024. QoL was assessed using the KCCQ questionnaire. Multivariate linear regression was used to analyze influencing factors. Results: Patients had an average age of 79.42 ± 7.49, mostly male. The mean overall KCCQ QoL score was 71.98 ± 20.81 with statistically significant difference between age groups, Charlson index adjusted for age, number of comorbidities according to Charlson, causes of heart failure and NYHA classification. Multivariate regression analysis showed that these factors had a statistically significant influence on overall QoL. Conclusion: The QoL among chronic heart failure had an average score. Age, number of comorbidities, NYHA classification and ejection fraction were factors affecting overall QoL score.
