Abstract

Introduction: Primary knee osteoarthritis is a chronic disease caused by an imbalance between the synthesis and destruction of articular cartilage, characterized by erosion and loss of articular cartilage. Total knee arthroplasty surgety is a treatment method that helps relieve pain for patients and restore movement when other treatments are ineffective. Subject and Methods: Evaluation of the results of total knee joint replacement treatment of knee oathrosis at Bac Ha hospital from January 2023 to December  2024. Results: The mean age of patients was 65,8 ± 6,1 years old. Male/ Female: 1/18. Ratio of patients with bilateral knee osteoarthritis/unilateral osteoarthritis: 18/19, including 36 patients with left knee arthroplasty surgery, 28 patients with right knee arthroplasty surgery and 4 patient with second knee arthroplasty surgery. The mean length of hospital stay was 8,2 ± 0,9 days. Knee function score: All knee joints before replacing KS, KFS are < 60. Postoperative KS score: 90,8 ± 2,3, postoperative KFS: 91,6 ± 2,0. Conclusions: Total knee arthroplasty surgery for knee osteoarthritis is a good solution used to treat patients with primary knee osteoarthritis.When other methods (medical treatment, axial chiropractic, arthroscopy, etc.) are not effective.
