Abstract

Objective: To analyze certain factors affecting the quality of life (QoL) of patients undergoing rehabilitation after stroke at the Dak Lak Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2024. Methods: A quantitative study was conducted in the Rehabilitation Department of Dak Lak Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital, involving a sample size of 171 post-stroke patients undergoing rehabilitation. The Stroke-Specific Quality of Life (SS-QOL) questionnaire was used as the assessment tool, focusing on the patients' physical, functional, psychological, and social health domains. Data were processed and analyzed using SPSS version 20, applying descriptive statistics and significance testing. A qualitative component was also included, consisting of four in-depth interviews and one focus group discussion conducted with healthcare providers and patients at the hospital. Data were recorded, coded, and thematically analyzed to explore factors influencing QoL. Results and Conclusion: Patients' QoL was influenced by both positive and negative factors. Positive factors included family support, health insurance, dedicated healthcare staff, and modern equipment, all contributing to improvements in patients' health and mental well-being. In contrast, negative factors such as advanced age, comorbidities, financial hardship, lack of specialized rehabilitation equipment, and limited awareness were found to reduce QoL. Family support, medical staff, and healthcare infrastructure play crucial roles in enhancing QoL. There is a need to improve medical equipment, expand financial support, and raise community awareness about stroke and rehabilitation to optimize patient care outcomes.
