Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Endoscopic tympanoplasty has emerged as a modern surgical technique due to its significant advantages over conventional approaches. This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of endoscopic tympanoplasty at University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City - Branch 2. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted by reviewing medical records of patients diagnosed with chronic suppurative otitis media with tympanic membrane perforation, who underwent endoscopic tympanoplasty using a temporalis fascia graft at University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City - Branch 2 from 2022 to 2024. Results: The study included 45 patients. After 6 months of surgery, 80% of the patients demonstrated marked improvement in hearing, and the graft take rate of the tympanic membrane was 97.8%. There was a statistically significant change in audiometric hearing thresholds following surgery, with p < 0.001. Conclusion: Endoscopic tympanoplasty is a modern and effective surgical technique that enhances hearing outcomes and tympanic membrane healing rates in patients with chronic suppurative otitis media with tympanic membrane perforation.
