EVALUATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH PROPHYLACTIC PREECLAMPSIA TREATMENT USING ASPIRIN IN PREGNANT WOMEN VISITING TU DU HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: Adherence to aspirin in the prevention of preeclampsia is crucial in reducing the incidence of this condition among high-risk pregnant women. Identifying the causes of non-adherence is essential to improve the effectiveness of preventive treatment. Objective: determine the adherence rate to aspirin prophylaxis for preeclampsia among pregnant women at Tu Du hospital. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 182 high-risk pregnant women between 24–36 weeks of gestation who were prescribed aspirin for preeclampsia prevention and attended antenatal care at Tu Du hospital from November 2024 to April 2025. Results: The adherence rate to aspirin prophylaxis, assessed using the MMAS-8 questionnaire, was 25.27%. Statistically significant factors associated with adherence included a history of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy and a family history of hypertension. Conclusion: Appropriate strategies in counseling and patient engagement are needed to improve adherence to prophylactic treatment among high-risk pregnant women.
