ADVERSE FETAL OUTCOMES IN OLIGOHYDRAMNIOS PREGNANT WOMEN AT 30 TO 34 WEEKS OF GESTATION GIVING BIRTH AT TU DU HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To determine the rate of adverse pregnancy outcomes (APGAR 5 minutes < 7, death) in fetuses in oligohydramnios pregnant women from 30 to 34 weeks of pregnancy. Methods: Cross-sectional study of 214 pregnant women diagnosed with oligohydramnios (AFI ≤ 5) from 30 to 34 weeks of pregnancy giving birth at Tu Du Hospital during the period 01/2014 - 3/2024, assessing the outcome of the newborn based on the 5-minute APGAR score and neonatal death. Results: Adverse pregnancy outcomes (APGAR 5 minutes < 7, death) in oligohydramnios pregnant women from 30 to 34 weeks of pregnancy: 33.6% (95% CI = 27.1 - 40.2). Factors associated with poor outcomes in infants include: Pregnant women with placental abnormalities were associated with poor pregnancy outcomes in the fetus with OR=6.9 (95% CI=3.1 - 16.1; p<0.001), gestational age at birth <32 weeks was associated with poor pregnancy outcomes in the fetus with OR=2.5 (95% CI=1.1 - 6.3; p=0.048). Low birth weight for gestational age was associated with poor pregnancy outcomes in the fetus with OR=3.6 (95% CI=1.7 - 7.9; p=0.001). Conclusion: Monitoring pregnancy, supportive treatment for oligohydramnios, and prolonging gestation beyond 32 weeks are factors that reduce the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in infants.
