Abstract

Background: Adolescent health and psychological behaviors have increasingly attracted attention in the current context. Objective: To describe the current status of health behaviors and associated factors among high school students in Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province, in 2024. Materials and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 850 high school students in Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province, from June 2024 to August 2025. Results: The sample had a balanced age and sex distribution, with most students having normal nutritional status; however, the prevalence of overweight was higher than the national average. Certain health behaviors varied by demographic characteristics: females reported higher rates of hunger, males had higher smoking prevalence, students aged ≥17 years were more likely to have suicidal ideation, and toothbrushing frequency and physical activity decreased in older age groups. Conclusion: The health and behaviors of high school students are significantly influenced by age and sex, requiring appropriate interventions to improve nutrition, mental health, and healthy lifestyles.
