NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND SOME RELATED FACTORS IN PATIENTS WITH THYROID CANCER TREATED WITH I-131 AT K TAN TRIEU HOSPITAL IN 2025

Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 100 patients with differentiated thyroid cancer indicated for I-131 radiotherapy at K Hospital, Tan Trieu campus. The study aimed to assess the nutritional status and related factors at the time of discharge and during follow-up visits. The results showed that most patients experienced weight loss and side effects from I-131 at discharge, but these improved rapidly (about 2 – 3 kg), with weight gain and reduced symptoms at follow-up. The PG-SGA A nutritional status increased from 30% to 92%. Factors such as place of residence, disease stage, and I-131 dosage were statistically significant in relation to the patients' nutritional status.
