Abstract

Objectives: The study aims to describe the correlation between gross and microscopic brain contusions with other forms of damage in TBI caused by road traffic accidents through forensic examination. Methods: A cross-sectional study of 300 victims of road traffic accidents who died with brain contusions was examined at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Hanoi Medical University, the Department of Anatomy, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital and the Hanoi Forensic Center in 2022-2023. Results: The subjects were mainly male (70%), the average age of the victims was 39.1 ± 18.9. There was a correlation between gross brain contusions and subdural hematoma and intraventricular hemorrhage. Conclussion: These findings are important in clinical practice, supporting examiners in providing accurate examination results for investigation.
