MINERALIZATION POTENTIAL OF CALCIUM SILICATE-BASED ROOT CANAL SEALERS ON HUMAN PERIODONTAL LIGAMENT STEM CELLS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: This study evaluates the mineralization potential of two calcium silicate-based root canal sealers: BioRoot™ RCS (Septodont, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France) and CeraSeal (Meta-Biomed, Korea). Methods: Human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) were directly exposed to the 25% extract concentration of each sealer (a concentration considered safe in cytotoxicity studies). Mineralization potential was assessed using the Alizarin Red staining assay. Results: There was no significant difference in the mineralization potential between the two types of sealers and the control group (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Calcium silicate-based root canal sealers exhibit mineralization-stimulating activity on cells.
