FACTORS RELATED TO HOSPITAL INFECTION PREVENTION AMONG NURSES AT HA NAM GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2024

Abstract
Objective: To identify nurses’ attitudes and factors related to hospital infection prevention at Ha Nam General Hospital in 2024. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from March to September 2024 among 332 nurses working in clinical departments of Ha Nam General Hospital. Results: The study found that 81.3% of nurses demonstrated a generally positive attitude toward hospital infection prevention, while 18.7% showed less positive attitudes. Nurses’ attitudes toward infection control were significantly associated with training modality, working department, and participation in refresher courses since 2020. Conclusion: Most nurses had positive attitudes toward hospital infection prevention. These attitudes were associated with training modality, department, and training participation, highlighting the need for regular refresher courses and appropriate, department-wide training to strengthen infection control practices
