Abstract

Differential diagnosis between a solitary brain metastasis and encephalitis can sometimes be challenging due to atypical imaging features and vague clinical symptoms. We report a case of a 42-year-old male patient admitted with symptoms of headache and dizziness, showing a solitary brain lesion in the left frontal region. The lesion was non-edematous, had no clear ring enhancement, and showed no hypervascularity or abnormality on MRI spectroscopy. The patient received symptomatic treatment and follow-up. After 3 months, the lesion progressed, and a biopsy confirmed adenocarcinoma metastatic from the lung. This case highlights the need for caution when evaluating atypical solitary brain lesions and emphasizes the role of systemic screening in suspected metastatic cases.
