Abstract

Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) has been described as a rare vascular bone lesion with histological features between hemangioma and high-grade angiosarcoma. EHE of the bone is an extremely uncommon lesion, with the incidence of EHE as a primary bone tumor being reported to be less than 1%.  Case report: We report a 7-year-old male case with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma of the spine, with the complete data, including clinical, imaging (X-ray, computed tomography [CT], and magnetic resonance imaging [MRI], bone scan), surgical, histopathological information, and the adjuvant therapy following the surgery. The aim of this study is to summarize its clinical and imaging features in order to guide the correct diagnosis and treatment. Conclusion: EHE of the bone is a very rare malignant vascular neoplasm with no specific radiographic imaging features. Early detection by imaging methods such as X-ray, MSCT, MRI, bone scan helps to diagnose early and improve treatment efficiency.
