OUTCOMES AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN SINGLE LEVEL FULL ENDOSCOPIC POSTERIOR CERVICAL FOR DISC HERNIATION
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Posterior cervical foraminotomy and disectomy using endoscopy was developed as a minimally invasive procedure to reduce the complication of the anterior cervical approach and to preserve the segmental motion without decreasing the effectiveness of nerve decompression. Object. In this report the author presents surgery related outcomes and associated factors after application of a technique: A endoscopic posterior foraminotomy and discectomy at Viet Duc University hospital. Methods. This prospective, descriptive study was conducted before and after spinal disc herniation surgery at the Department of Spine Surgery, Viet Duc University Hospital, from 3/2023 to 2/2025. Results. Excellent or good results were obtained in 44 (91.7%) patients. The C2C7 cervical lordosis angle was higher in the group with excellent or good results results and complications occurred more frequently in the group with satisfactory and poor results, which was statistically significant. Conclusions. Full endoscopic posterior cervical is an effective and safe treatment for cervical disc herniation. Two factors that significantly affect the surgical outcome are complications and C2C7 cervical lordosis.
