Abstract

Purpose: To describe clinical features, imaging findings and evaluate the results of treatment of De Quervain tenosynovitis. Object and Method: Descriptive study 51 patients with 53 wirst were diagnosed and treated De Quervain tenosynovitis in outpatient department of Hai Duong Medical Technical University Hospital from December 2021 to May 2022. Results: Most patients with De Quervain tenosynovitis are female and the lesions are unilateral. Pain in the wrist or thumb as well as a positive Finkelstein test was observed in 100% of the cases. Most patients had a moderate pain (VAS score 5-7 points), accounting for 64.1%. Sonographic findings included tendon thickening and synovial sheath thickening accounted for 100% and 92.5%, respectively. Most of the cases showed peritendinous subcutaneous hyperemia on color Doppler and power Doppler ultrasound imaging. In the group of male patients, 100% of the cases were completely cured after only a single injection of the tendon sheath. In the group of female patients, there was no case that did not improve after injection, 85.7% of patients were completely pain free after one injection. Conclusion: Wrist pain and a positive Finkelstein's maneuver were common clinical manifestations of De Quervain's tenosynovitis. Ultrasound is an examination method that is both valuable in diagnosis and helps to differentiate from other diseases of the wrist
