Abstract
Objective: Analyzing the organizational process of applying the principles of family medicine to the management and treatment of hypertension at two health stations in Mai Dinh and Phu Minh communes, Soc Son, Hanoi (2014-2020). Methods: Cross-sectional description, secondary data analysis, in-depth interview. Results: The health station has been trained by upper/terminal hospitals, especially Hanoi Heart Hospital, training to improve professional qualifications, capacity for management and treatment of hypertensive patients, and knowledge. , counseling skills, health education, communication skills with patients and directly participating in support and guidance "hands-on" for medical staff and medical staff to practice medical examination and treatment at health stations. The proportion of hypertensive patients registered for management at two health stations increased markedly, from 76.7% and 74.4% (2014) to 89.8% and 90.5% (2020) (p< 0.001); Patients managed to treat hypertension at health stations have changed their lifestyle behaviors in a positive and scientific way, thereby reducing the risk of dangerous complications of hypertension such as quitting smoking, eat less salt, limit alcohol/beer consumption, increase daily physical activity and be more satisfied with the quality of medical examination and treatment services of the health station.
