SURVEY ON KNOWLEDGE AND SOME FACTORS RELATED TO BLOCKED MILK DUCTS OF POSTPARTUM MOTHERS AT HAI DUONG OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: Describe the current status of knowledge and study some related factors about blocked milk ducts of postpartum mothers at Hai Duong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 258 postpartum mothers at Hai Duong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from October 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. Results: Our study showed that 82.2% of mothers had satisfactory knowledge scores and 17.8% of mothers had unsatisfactory knowledge scores about blocked milk ducts. There was a correlation between age and knowledge of mothers (p < 0.05) and there was no correlation between occupation, education level, place of residence, number of births of mothers and knowledge about blocked milk ducts (p > 0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to strengthen education on recognizing signs of blocked milk ducts during pregnancy for pregnant women and immediately after birth for mothers. Research should be conducted to assess the skills of postpartum mothers in breast care and proper breastfeeding.
