Abstract
Objective: To evaluate some factors related to the results of kidney stone treatment by ultra mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy at Military Hospital 175. Subjects and Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 196 cases indicated for ultra mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy at Military Hospital 175 from December 2023 to June 2025. Results: The location and size of the stones significantly affected the results of stone removal (p < 0.05). The highest rate of stone residual was in the group with staghorn stones (33.33%) and stones with a size of 30–40 mm (28.57%). The characteristics of overlapping stones on KUB and stones distributed in small calyces were also significantly related to the possibility of stone residual (p < 0.001), while the Hounsfield Unit (HU) was not related. In addition, the higher the GUY score, the higher the rate of stone residual (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The location, size, and complexity of the stone are related to the success rate of ultra mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy.
