Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of flexible ureteroscopy lithotripsy for renal stones management, focusing on characteristics of kidney stones, stone-free rate, and surgical safety. Materials and Methods: A retrospective description patients diagnosed with renal stones who underwent flexible ureteroscopy lithotripsy at Bach Mai Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024. Results: A total of 69 patients were included, consisting of 43 males (62.3%) and 26 females (37.7%). The age was 51.8 ± 13.4 years (27-86 years). The stone size was 16.9 ± 5.8 mm (8-33 mm), and the number of stones was 1.5 ± 0.6 stones (1-3 stones). The mean operative time was 70.5 ± 26.0 minutes (30-175 minutes). The stone-free rates at 1 day and 1 month postoperatively were 77.1% and 82.9%, respectively. The postoperative complication rate was 7.2%, all of which were mild (Clavien–Dindo grade I–II), including 2.9% with gross hematuria (Clavien–Dindo grade I) and 4.3% with postoperative fever (Clavien–Dindo grade II). Conclusion: The results indicate that of flexible ureteroscopy lithotripsy is a minimally invasive, effective, and safe treatment for renal stones.
