Abstract

Objective:  Evaluate the results of surgical treatment with locking plate for closed fractures of the distal radius at the 108 Military Central Hospital. Subjects and methods: Describe 39 patients diagnosed with closed fractures of the distal radius who underwent surgical treatment with locking plate at the Department of Upper Extremity Trauma and Microsurgery - 108 Military Central Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023. Results: There were 21 males (53.8%) and 18 females (46.2%). The average age was 50.9 (ranging from 24 to 82 years old), with the highest rate of >60 years old being 36%. The overall results were very good at 64.1%, good at 25.6% and fair at 10.3%. Conclusion: The treatment of closed distal radius fractures by open reduction surgery and bone fixation with locking plate has shown positive recovery results.
