Abstract

Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics of patients undergoing microsurgical replantation of amputated fingers at Viet Tiep Hospital from December 2023 to December 2024, and to evaluate treatment outcomes after six months. Subjects and Methods: A prospective descriptive study was conducted on 43 patients with complete finger amputations who underwent microsurgical replantation. All patients were followed up and assessed at 6 months postoperatively. Results: Occupational accidents were the leading cause of injury (55.8%). Most patients were male (81.4%) and of working age (90.7%). The most commonly injured fingers were the index and thumb. After 6 months, 46.5% of patients returned to work and 32.6% resumed daily activities. Sensory recovery reached S3–S4 in 27.8% of cases. Muscle strength of M3 or higher was achieved in 88.9%, with 16.7% reaching M5. According to Chen Z.W.’s grading, 55.5% of cases achieved good to excellent results (grades I–II). Conclusion: Microsurgical replantation of amputated fingers at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital yielded favorable functional recovery after 6 months.
