THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY OF AKEIO KIEN KHOP COMBINED WITH ELECTROACUPUNCTURE IN PATIENTS WITH KNEE OSTEOARTHRITS AT HAI PHONG MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL 2024-2025

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the treatment outcomes of Akeio kien khop in combination with electroacupuncture in patients with knee osteoarthritis at Hai Phong Medicine University Hospital during the period 2024–2025. Methods: A clinical interventional study with a before-and-after treatment comparison and a control group. Results: In the intervention group, the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score decreased from 5.57 ± 1.33 points to 2.07 ± 1.79 points. The range of motion of the knee joint improved. The Lequesne index decreased more significantly in the intervention group compared to the control group, with an effect size of 1.37 ± 0.68 points. Post-treatment synovial fluid volume in the intervention group was 2.93 ± 1.55 mm, showing a greater reduction than in the control group (3.31 ± 3.39 mm). Conclusion: Akeio kien khop in combination with electroacupuncture is effective in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis.
