Abstract

Objective: Survey serum NT-proBNP concentration in patients with acute heart failure and evaluate treatment response at the Department of Internal Medicine - Poison Control, Soc Son General Hospital in 2024. Method: Retrospective study of 136 patients with acute heart failure treated at the Department of Internal Medicine - Poison Control, Soc Son General Hospital in 2024. Results: The incidence of heart failure increases with age with serum NT-proBNP values ​​increasing with age. Patients with a history of heart failure have higher serum NT-proBNP values. The mean time to repeat serum NT-proBNP test was 3.92 ± 1.56 days, showing a significant decrease in serum NT-proBNP value. Conclusion: serum NT-proBNP test helps to confirm the diagnosis of acute heart failure and evaluate the treatment results.
