DEVELOPING A SELF-CARE INTERVENTION PROGRAM FOR EARLY-STAGE BREAST CANCER PATIENTS AFTER SURGERY

Abstract

Objective: To develop a self-care intervention program for early-stage breast cancer patients after surgery. Methods: Search and analyze the system from the databases Pubmed, Google scholar, Science Direct, Scihub, European UT Association website, EORTC, NCCN, ESMO, WHO, self-care intervention studies for early-stage breast cancer patients in English or Vietnamese in the past 10 years. Results: Shows the effectiveness of self-care in reducing complications, improving quality of life and enhancing the role of nurses in managing and guiding patients to self-care effectively. Conclusion: Based on this scientific and practical evidence, the study builds a self-care intervention program including health education counseling about the disease, instructions on post-operative arm exercises, measuring and monitoring BMI and arm circumference with a clear implementation process and the core role of nurses.
