MEDICATION COMPLIANCE IN PARKINSON'S DISEASE PATIENTS OUTPATIENTS AT HA DONG GENERAL HOSPITAL AND SOME RELATED FACTORS

Abstract
Objective: Describe medication adherence of Parkinson's patients treated as outpatients at Ha Dong General Hospital in 2025 and some related factors. Subjects and methods: Patients coming for outpatient treatment at Ha Dong General Hospital, examined and diagnosed with Parkinson's disease by a specialist in 2025, treated continuously for more than 3 months at the Neurology Clinic - Ha Dong General Hospital. Convenient sampling method. Conclusion: Through a study of 80 Parkinson's patients treated as outpatients at Ha Dong Hospital,we drew the following conclusions: - Parkinson's patients under 70 years old account for the majority with a rate of 77.5%. - The rate of good outpatient management of Parkinson's patients was 73.75%. The rate of Parkinson's patients whose drug history was explored was 98.1%, and their medical history was 99.4%. The rate of Parkinson's patients whose effects of the drugs they were about to take was 78.8%. Of these, 55.6% of patients rated the explanation as adequate and 92.1% of patients rated it as easy to understand and implement. - The rate of correct medication compliance is 35%. The rate of Parkinson's patients who skip medication or do not take the prescribed amount is 20%. The rate of Parkinson's patients who forget to take medication is 65%. - There are 6 factors that have a statistically significant relationship with drug compliance of Parkinson's patients, including: The older the age group, the lower the drug compliance rate. Parkinson's patients who can live independently have a drug compliance rate 3,071 times higher than those who need care. Parkinson's patients with correct knowledge about the disease and medication have a drug compliance rate 2,214 times higher than those who do not have correct knowledge. Parkinson's patients with a prescription for 1-2 drugs have a drug compliance rate 2,409 times higher than those who use more than 2 drugs. Parkinson's patients with good drug compliance will have the ability to move effectively 3,388 times higher than those who do not comply with drugs. All relationships are statistically significant (p<0.05).
