TREATMENT RESULTS OF SEASONAL INFLUENZA WITH COMPLICATIONSIN CHILDREN AT NGHE AN NORTHWEST REGIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2024

Abstract
Objectives: Treatment results of seasonal influenza with complications in children at Nghe An Northwest Regional General Hospital in 2024. Methods: Retrospective descriptive study in children with seasonal influenza with complications at Nghe An Northwest Regional General Hospital from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. Results: Of the total 327 pediatric patients diagnosed with seasonal flu complications. The group of 5 years old was 67.2%. The male/female ratio is 1.15/1.Tamiflu treatment within 48 hours was 79.8%. The average treatment day was 5.75 ± 2.1 days. The rate of recovery and discharge was 94.2%, the severe group, transfer was 5.8%. Complications of encephalitis, myocarditis, chronic diseases, respiratory support and laboratory tests showed decreased Hb index (anemia), increased CRP in the transfer group, with a higher rate than in the discharge group, the difference was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Most children with seasonal influenza complications were treated with Tamiflu for 48 hours. The rate of recovery and discharge was high. Some complications of encephalitis, myocarditis, chronic diseases, and the group with respiratory support were referred to appropriate facilities according to their condition
