Abstract

Objective: To investigate factors associated with treatment outcomes and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment in patients with low back pain due to lumbar spine degeneration treated at the Musculoskeletal Center, Võ Trường Toản University Hospital during the period 2024–2025. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 109 patients who visited and received treatment at the Musculoskeletal Center, Võ Trường Toản University Hospital between 2024 and 2025, and were diagnosed with low back pain caused by lumbar degenerative spine disease. Result: Medical treatment was the most commonly applied modality (41.3%), followed by physical therapy and combined treatment, while surgical intervention accounted for a low proportion (9.2%). After two treatment courses, therapeutic outcomes improved markedly, with 96.4% of patients achieving good or fair results and no cases showing poor response. Analysis of associated factors revealed that age and duration of pain were significantly related to treatment outcomes; patients younger than 60 years and those with pain duration of less than 3 months had higher rates of good outcomes. Other factors, including sex, body mass index (BMI), occupational workload, and treatment modality, showed no statistically significant association with treatment outcomes.
