Abstract

Meckel’s diverticulum is a congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract, occurring in 2% of the population, of which about 30% have complications presenting as an acute abdomen, with symptoms including inflammation, gastrointestinal bleeding, or intestinal obstruction. These manifestations often mimic other surgical emergencies such as acute appendicitis, intussusception, bowel obstruction, or peritonitis; therefore, diagnostic imaging plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum and its associated pathologies. In this paper, we present four cases illustrating different complications of Meckel's diverticulum and highlight the critical role of diagnostic imaging modalities in the detection and diagnosis of this condition.
