Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To describe the attitudes towards hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) prevention and some related factors of mothers with children under 5 years old treated at Nam Dinh Pediatric Hospital in 2025. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 32 mothers with children under 5 years old treated at Nam Dinh Pediatric Hospital. Research results: The percentage of mothers with a positive attitude was 76.5%, however, 23.5% of mothers still had a negative attitude towards HFMD prevention. There was a statistically significant correlation between age, geographical location, and educational level with mothers' attitudes towards disease prevention, with statistically significant differences (p<0.05). Conclusion: The proportion of mothers with a positive attitude towards preventing hand, foot, and mouth disease in children is still low; therefore, it is necessary to design health education programs integrated into medical examination and treatment activities… to improve both the knowledge and attitudes of mothers.
