Abstract

Objective: To identify factors associated with the postoperative period among patients undergoing lower limb fracture fixation surgery at Nam Dinh General Hospital in 2023. Subjects and research method: A total of 85 patients who underwent lower limb fracture fixation surgery at Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital between April 2023 and August 2023 were enrolled in the study. Results: Postoperative fatigue was highest during the first three postoperative days and decreased over the first week. Preoperative pain was not associated with postoperative fatigue, whereas preoperative anxiety showed a weak but significant correlation (p < 0.05). Postoperative pain and anxiety were significantly and positively correlated with postoperative fatigue at all time points (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Postoperative pain and anxiety are significantly associated with postoperative fatigue among patients undergoing lower limb fracture fixation surgery. Effective management of pain and anxiety may help reduce postoperative fatigue and improve recovery outcomes.
