Abstract

Gastroduodenal ulcer is a common digestive tract disease primarily caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). One of the leading causes of treatment failure is the increasing antibiotic resistance of this bacterium. This clinical study investigates the effects of THV hard capsules—composed of five herbal ingredients—with the aim of providing a safe alternative and additional options for treating H. pylori-infected gastroduodenal syndrome. Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of THV hard capsules in patients with gastroduodenal syndrome infected with H. pylori. Materials and Methods: A clinical trial was conducted on 102 patients using a prospective design, comparing pre- and post-treatment results as well as a control group. Among them, 52 patients in the study group were treated with THV hard capsules, while 50 patients in the control group received a combined regimen of Omeprazole, Amoxicillin, and Metronidazole. Results: The rates of pain relief achieving "good" and "moderate" therapeutic efficacy were 32.7% and 61.5%, respectively. The rates of complete H. pylori eradication and ulcer healing were 59.6% and 69.2%. The proportion of patients with reduced ulcer size accounted for 26.9%. There was no statistically significant difference in treatment outcomes between the THV group and the control group (p > 0.05). THV hard capsules did not cause any clinical side effects. Conclusion: THV hard capsules are safe and effective in relieving pain, promoting ulcer healing, and eradicating H. pylori in patients with gastroduodenal syndrome.
