Abstract

Objective: To assess quality of life and identify associated factors among patients after stroke at Tien Giang General Hospital in 2025. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 96 post-stroke patients treated at the Department of Rehabilitation and the Department of Neurology, Tien Giang General Hospital, from January to August 2025. Quality of life was assessed using the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life (SS-QOL) scale. SS-QOL scores were analyzed as continuous variables and compared between groups using appropriate statistical tests. Results: The mean SS-QOL score was 148.8 ± 3.5. Lower scores were observed in the domains of energy, thinking, work/productivity, and family roles. Patients younger than 60 years and those with an educational level of secondary school or higher had significantly higher SS-QOL scores compared with their counterparts (p < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found regarding sex, residence, occupation, nutritional status, comorbidities, or stroke type. Conclusion: The quality of life of post-stroke patients in this study remained relatively low. Age and educational level were associated with quality of life. These findings suggest the need to strengthen rehabilitation programs and psychosocial support to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors.
