Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of upper blepharoplasty combined with autologous fat grafting for correction of superior sulcus deformity. Subjects and Methods: A retrospective descriptive study was conducted on the medical records of 45 female patients who underwent upper blepharoplasty combined with autologous fat grafting for superior sulcus deformity between November 2018 and November 2024. Data were collected from medical records and clinical photographs obtained preoperatively and at 6 and 12 months postoperatively. Aesthetic outcomes were assessed using the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS), and patient satisfaction was evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Results: A total of 45 female patients aged 21 to 64 years (mean: 42.5 ± 7.8 years) were included. The proportion of patients reporting “satisfied” and “very satisfied” outcomes was 91.1% at 6 months and 93.3% at 12 months postoperatively. Aesthetic outcomes rated as “very much improved” were observed in 37.8% of patients at 6 months, increasing to 46.7% at 12 months. All patients (100%, 45/45) demonstrated at least some degree of improvement. Comparisons of patient satisfaction and aesthetic outcomes between 6 and 12 months showed statistically significant differences (p < 0.05). No severe complications requiring intervention were recorded. Conclusion:Upper blepharoplasty combined with autologous fat grafting for correction of superior sulcus deformity is a safe and effective technique, providing favorable aesthetic outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
