SOME CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF HYPERTENSIVE RETINAL DISEASE AT 19-8 HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: To describe some clinical characteristics of hypertensive retinopathy and related factors. Research methods: A prospective, descriptive cross-sectional observational study of 60 hypertensive patients at 19-8 Hospital from December 2023 to December 2024. Hypertensive retinopathy was assessed through clinical examination and fundus photography. Duration of disease, severity of hypertension, cardiovascular lesions, and some risk factors were recorded. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: Arterial-venous crossing 26.32%, total arteriolar stenosis 7.89%, focal arteriolar stenosis 39.48%, hemorrhage 10.53%, exudates 7.89%, cotton-wool spots 5.26%, papilledema 2.63%. Conclusion: Good blood pressure control contributes to preventing retinal damage caused by hypertension.
