Abstract

Objective: To evaluate rehabilitation outcomes following total hip arthroplasty at Vinmec Times City International Hospital.

Methods: A prospective interventional study without a control group was conducted on 35 patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty. Rehabilitation outcomes were assessed preoperatively and at 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively using the Harris hip score, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and the Short Form-36 (SF-36) quality-of-life questionnaire.

Results: The mean age was 57.5 ± 18.3 years; 51.4% were male. The mean total HHS improved significantly from 45.2 ± 9.8 preoperatively to 93.4 ± 5.2 at 6 months (p<0.001). At 6 months, 91.4% of patients achieved good to excellent outcomes. Overall satisfaction increased to 91.4%. Significant improvements were observed across all SF-36 domains (p<0.001).

Conclusion: Total hip arthroplasty combined with early structured rehabilitation results in significant improvement in hip function and quality of life.
