ASSESSING CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN PATIENTS WITH PSORIASIS ARTHRITIS USING THE SCORE2 AND SCORE2OP SCALES

Abstract

Objective: Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory joint disease, simultaneously affecting the skin, joints, and multiple extra-articular organs. PsA patients have an increased cardiovascular (CV) risk due to the combination of chronic inflammation and traditional cardiovascular risk factors. Assessing the CV risk in PsA patients helps to modify risk factors and improve the disease prognosis.


Background: this study aims to predict cardiovascular risk using the SCORE 2 and SCORE 2 OP scales and some related factors in patients with psoriatic arthritis.


Subject and methods: The study was conducted on 55 PsA patients at the Centre for Rheumatology of Bach Mai Hospital from August 2024 to July 2025.


Results: The mean cardiovascular risk was 6.78 ± 6.2 (%), with 32.7% of patients presenting low-to-moderate risk, 47.3% high risk, and 20% very high risk. The 10-year CV risk in PsA patients was associated with disease duration, aged, sex, disease activity.


Conclusion: Cardiovascular risk assessment should be routinely performed in patients with psoriatic arthritis.
