THE CLINICAL AND PARACLINICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF GASTROINTESTINAL FISTULAS AND THE RESULTS OF GASTROINTESTINAL FISTULAS TREATMENT

Abstract
Aim of study: Evaluate the clinical and paraclinical characteristic of gastrointestinal fistulas also characteristic of gastrointestinal fistulas groups.Results of medical, intervention and surgical treatment for gastrointestinal fistulas
Results: 46 patients, men 63,0%, women 37,0%; Mean age 60,8±12,94. Clinical features: Abdominal pain in 93,4%; Fever in 82,6%; intra abdominal absceses in 43,5%, bstruction in 15,2%. CTScan revealed intra abdominal absceses in 43,5%; Xray revealed air-liqid level in 15,2%. Pus culture positive in 21,7%. Small volume fistulas in 38,9%, Moderate in 55,6%; High in 5,5%. Upper gastrointestinal fistulas in 88,9%; Lower 11,1%. Post operated fistulas in 78,3%; Spontanous fistulas in 21,7%. Medical treatment in 38,9%, Intervention in 22,2%; Surgical in 38,9%. The average of hospital stay was 21± 12,04 day.
Conclusion: The prevalence postoperated fistulas in 78,3%. The most complicated treatment were esophago-jejunal fistulas and gastrojejunal anastomosis fistulas with long hospital stay and high morbility. Medical and intervention treatment was more successful in duodenal stump fistulas (90,9%) and fistulas of duodeno-duodenal anastomosis (100%) with short hospital stay (14±6,16 vs14,0± 4,90).
