Abstract

Aim: To describe the characteristics of language disorders in post-stroke aphasia patients at Hanoi Rehabilitation Hospital in 2025.


Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 30 post-stroke aphasia patients from March to June 2025 at Hanoi Rehabilitation Hospital.


Results: The rate of language impairment was high, particularly in written expression (90%), and lowest in auditory comprehension (76.67%). Expressive language was more affected than receptive language. Patients experienced the most difficulty with complex tasks such as picture description (83.3%), sequencing (76.6%), reading comprehension (83.33%), and dictation (76.67%).Simple tasks such as word repetition and copy writing were less impaired.


Conclusion: Aphasia in stroke patients present with diverse manifestations, requiring comprehensive assessment for appropriate intervention.
