Abstract

Placental site nodule (PSN) is a rare benign trophoblastic lesion derived from residual intermediate trophoblastic cells following pregnancy. Its clinical significance, particularly in the context of infertility, remains unclear. We report three cases of PSN identified during infertility evaluation. All patients had a history of prior pregnancy and uterine interventions. Hysteroscopic findings revealed small, ivory-white, nonspecific lesions. Definitive diagnosis was established based on histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry. One case was associated with chronic endometritis and subsequently achieved pregnancy following lesion management. These findings suggest that PSN may impair fertility through space-occupying effects or by inducing endometrial inflammatory responses. PSN should be considered in the differential diagnosis of intrauterine lesions in patients with infertility. Further studies with larger sample sizes are warranted to clarify the role of this lesion.
