Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of breast cancer patients undergoing breast-conserving surgery with B-plasty at Military Hospital 175. Subjects and Methods: A prospective descriptive study was conducted on 51 patients diagnosed with breast cancer who underwent breast-conserving surgery with B-plasty at Military Hospital 175 from December 2022 to October 2025. Results: The mean age was 52.3 ± 9.8 years, with the 40–60 age group accounting for 64.7%. The most common presenting complaint was a self-detected breast lump (78.4%). Tumors were most frequently located in the upper outer quadrant (43.1%). The mean tumor size was 2.1 ± 0.7 cm; T1–T2 stages accounted for 92.2%. Most patients had no skin or nipple involvement (86.3%); 29.4% had palpable axillary lymph nodes. BI-RADS 4–5 accounted for 92.2%. Invasive ductal carcinoma was the predominant histological type (84.3%), and histological grade II was most common (58.8%). The rate of node-negative disease (N0) was 70.6%; stages I–II accounted for 100%, with stage II comprising 58.8%. ER and PR positivity rates were 72.5% and 68.6%, respectively; HER2 positivity was 19.6%; Ki-67 ≥ 20% was observed in 41.2% of cases. The predominant molecular subtypes were Luminal A and Luminal B (68.6%). Conclusion: Patients undergoing breast-conserving surgery with B-plasty were predominantly at an early stage, with small tumor size, a high rate of node-negative disease, and predominantly Luminal biological subtypes.
