Abstract

Objectives: The purpose of the research is to evaluate the analgesic effect of electric acupuncture combined with Tu vat dao hong decoction in treatment of patients withknee osteoarthritis. Subject and method: 60 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, regardless of aged andgender, volunteer for research. Researchers combined using electric acupuncture with Tu vat dao hong decoction, while the control group was treated with electric acupuncture only. Comparing the results before and after treatment. Results: The VAS score decreased from 5.53 ± 0.86 (before the treatment) to 2.60 ± 2.04 after the study; the Lysholmscore increased from 42.36 ± 4.45 (points) pre-treatment to 79.96 ± 6.18 (points) post-treatment; the knee swelling, knee joint function improved better than before treatment and better than control group, difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: The treating method using electric acupuncture combined with Tu vat dao hong decoction treatment is effective in knee osteoarthritis.
